Estrella Damm Launches Cinema Adverts

Estrella Damm, the authentic premium beer from Barcelona, is launching a cinema campaign to run throughout November.

The ‘Formentera’ advert, which has achieved cult status on YouTube with over 2.5 million views, is a 3 minute 40 second short film, depicting the summer adventures of a group of people in Spain.

Set on a backdrop of stunning landscape and iconic Spanish scenes, the film will be seen by over half a million people in nearly 200 Odeon cinemas throughout London.

Chris Lewis, marketing director for Wells and Young’s which began importing, distributing and marketing the beer in 2010, said: “This is a really big campaign for Estrella Damm. This film has already proved popular across the world and has become a massive hit on YouTube because people can relate to it.

“And Barcelona, Spain and the associated lifestyle are at the heart and soul of Estrella Damm. Awareness for the beer is growing in the UK because Barcelona is one of the most popular weekend destinations for Brits and Estrella Damm is one of Spain’s most popular beers with 7 in every 10 of beers sold in Barcelona being an Estrella Damm.”

The cinema campaign follows an eye-catching above-the-line campaign for Estrella Damm which ran throughout the summer in London and the South East, which included cinema, outdoor and print.

Lewis adds: “There is huge potential to build Estrella Damm in the UK and we are giving it the focus it deserves. With this significant above the line advertising investment and high consumer awareness, there is no better time to stock Estrella Damm, the Beer of Barcelona.”
