Wells and Young's Product Recall

18th February 2011

Wells and Young’s has announced today a precautionary recall of beer bottles produced since 4 January 2011 due to a quality issue which could result in small fragments of glass being found in a small number of bottles.

There have been no reports from consumers and this was identified by our internal quality checks.

Only bottles bought with the above lot codes and best before end dates are affected.

Jim Robertson, Production Director said: “Through our rigorous commitment to quality, our internal control system has highlighted an issue affecting our glass bottles. As a precautionary measure and standard procedure, we have taken the decision to recall the stock which is potentially affected.

“The risk of glass in bottles is extremely low, however consumer safety is our number one priority and that is why we have made this decision.”

If you have purchased any of the above products, please do not open or consume it. Instead, phone 0800 389 1156 or email support@wellsandyoungs.co.uk to arrange a product return.

The phone line will be open from 8am until 7pm until Friday 25th February. It will then be available to take your calls from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday from Monday 28th February.
