Young's Ram Rod makes a return to Cask

2nd September 2010

Young’s Ram Rod will be available on cask as an autumn seasonal – the first time for over five years.

Named after the Dorset Horn Ram who used to live in the brewery stables at Wandsworth, Ram Rod has only been available in 275ml bottles for a number of years. The iconic Young’s ‘horns’ logo is also based on this ram, which is a proven symbol of Young’s brewing heritage.

Throughout September, Ram Rod will be available to pubs as a guest cask beer, and in October, Ram Rod will be available in JD Wetherspoon’s as an exclusive beer for their annual beer festival.

Chris Lewis, marketing director for Wells and Young’s said: “Young’s Ram Rod, like all our Young’s beers, is brewed with 100% Farm Assured English barley and natural mineral water from the brewery’s very own well.”

Ram Rod is an amber beer, with a fruity, vinous and hoppy nose, packed full of flavour. It is full bodied with a fine balance between malt and hops.

Lewis adds: “The beer is a great addition to the bar during the autumn months. Licensees will be safe in the knowledge that Ram Rod is brewed with the expertise of more master brewers than any other cask brewery, the very finest ingredients and of course, with passion, pride and commitment for the perfect pint.”

Young’s Ram Rod is the first in a series of seasonal cask beers planned for the coming year.
