Hops
One of the hop farms that Wells and Young’s use is on the border between Worcestershire and Herefordshire. To find it, you have to travel down miles of winding country lanes in beautiful countryside.
Hops are harvested in quite an old fashioned way. The only modern piece of machinery used is a tractor. A person stands on the back of the tractor as it drives alongside the hop vines and slices them off into a trailer that is being towed behind. It is quite a contrast to the immense, modern combine harvester used to harvest the barley.
