Kirin Ichiban (5.0% ABV)

Kirin Lager beer has been the best selling beer in Japan continuously since 1888. Presented in stylish, embossed, amber 330ml and 500ml bottles, Kirin is the UK's no.1 Japanese beer brand.

Ichiban's very mild, pure and smooth taste caused a sensational boom when launched in Japan, subsequently becoming the third best selling brand there amongst Japanese beers.

"A remarkable beer that is made from the 'first runnings' of the brewing process, which means that great depth of malt and some tannins are left in the beer. It has a rich biscuity aroma with hints of well-brewed tea and citrus fruits, balanced by aromatic hops. There is a lightly toasted malt and tart hops in the mouth followed by a dry finish with bitter hops and lemon fruit dominating."
Roger Protz
Editor, The Good Beer Guide

The brewing process described above by Roger Protz is called the 'Ichiban Shibori' process, by which beer is made from a single, first pressing of the finest ingredients. While other beers are pressed and re-pressed, we dispose of what's left behind after the first pressing and then we start afresh.

This means that only the sweetest, most flavoursome liquid is used, giving Kirin Ichiban its pure, crisp and intensely satisfying taste. Only Kirin Ichiban is made to such uncompromising standards.
