ASDA CUSTOMERS GO SURFING WITH RED STRIPE

For landlocked watersports fans unable to get to the beach, Red Stripe Lager is bringing a taste of the surfing lifestyle to Asda customers across the Country.
The Red Stripe Lager surfing challenge has been launched to promote the 33cl long neck bottle which is now available at Asda in a 4-pack and will see the Red Stripe Lager surf simulator touring Asda stores in England and Scotland. Shoppers of any age will be invited to ride the waves and the person staying on the simulator the longest each day will win a genuine 7ft surf board worth £250. Additionally, customers who buy three 4-packs of Red Stripe Lager 330ml bottles (over 18's only) will receive a free baseball cap or t-shirt from the surf crew on site whilst stocks last.

Tim Wilmot-Smith, Sales Manager, Off Trade National Accounts for Charles Wells who brew Red Stripe Lager said "Red Stripe Lager is a sponsor of the British Surfing Association and is involved with a number of surf-related activities including the British Longboard Championships and Wakestock. We hope that this surfing challenge will give Asda customers a feel for Red Stripe's relaxed approach to life and they will want to share the unique and refreshing taste of Red Stripe Lager with us over the summer."

The Red Stripe Lager surfing challenge will run at selected Asda stores on specified dates from 10am-2pm and again from 3pm-7pm until 8th August 2004, with 20 Red Stripe Lager surfboards to be claimed by the daily winners.
