BAFTA AWARD WINNERS TO CELEBRATE WITH KIRIN ICHIBAN

The first entertainment award of the year has been announced with Kirin Ichiban winning the status of official Beer of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts in 2005. As a result of the sponsorship agreement, Kirin Ichiban will be available at all BAFTA events and will help many a celebrity through their thank you speeches and after show celebrations.
Kirin Ichiban is produced using the unique Ichiban Shibori brewing process by which beer is made from a single first pressing of the finest ingredients, giving you the sweetest, most flavoursome liquid every time. This attention to detail provides a natural fit with the very best exponents from within the film and television industry. As well as The Orange British Academy Film Awards being held on 12th February, the deal will also include: The British Academy Television Awards sponsored by Pioneer, The BAFTA Games Awards, The BAFTA Interactive Awards, The British Academy Children's Film and Television Awards, The British Academy Television Craft Awards and a number of BAFTA/BBC Tribute Ceremonies.

Opening a symbolic golden envelope to announce the sponsorship, Charles Wells Sales & Marketing Director, Nigel McNally said "Kirin Ichiban is brewed with ruthless inefficiency to ensure that only the sweetest, most flavoursome beer is produced. Only Kirin Ichiban is made with such uncompromising standards for a purer, superior taste and as everyone involved in the film and television industry knows, such pursuit of excellence helps you win over even the harshest critics in your field. As official beer of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts in 2005, Kirin Ichiban reflects the attention to detail of the master craftsmen and women of the arts world."

Simon Farley, Head of Development and Corporate Relations for BAFTA, responded "At BAFTA events we recognise and celebrate the very best performances and contributions to the industries of the moving image. I'm sure that all our members, award winners, nominees and special guests will enjoy celebrating with the connoisseur's choice of beer and look forward to sharing Kirin Ichiban moments at all our awards ceremonies this year."

Kirin Ichiban has been brewed in the UK by Charles Wells since 1992 and has become the main focus of promotional activity for the Kirin Brand in the UK and world-wide. It is also a sponsor of the prestigious D&AD Awards that recognise the best emerging and current design talent in the Country and has extended its sponsorship to include the D&AD Student Awards in 2005.
