Bar Citrus, the new stylish bar, opens Saturday June 30th

On Saturday June 30th, Leamington Spa will have a new stylish bar which serves fresh food throughout the day.

Bar Citrus, which has taken over the old Wig & Pen in Park Street, has transformed this town centre site into a spacious, attractive venue.

Bar Citrus, Leamington Spa, is the latest in a chain which also includes Bar Citrus in London, Bedford, Cambridge and Milton Keynes. Although belonging to a chain, each Bar Citrus retains some individuality and is carefully designed to appeal to the immediate drinking and dining population of each location.

Here in Leamington, the designers have looked carefully at how Bar Citrus will be seen both from the inside and outside. Large windows allow light to flood in from the street making the bar approachable and inviting. Once inside Bar Citrus, the customer will instantly feel relaxed and at home.

The Bar Citrus in-house design team have taken the principles of a traditional pub but brought them very much into the 21st century. The design scheme is governed by wooden floors, carpets, mosaic tiling coupled with soft furnishings and contemporary vibrant colours. The sofas and comfy big chairs encourage a relaxed, friendly and group environment.

Bar furniture incorporates chrome and wood combinations. Mixing and mingling the modern with the traditional is a theme of Bar Citrus and has been carefully and skilfully executed here.

The use of colour and light, both natural and artificial, is of paramount importance. A bright vibrant colour palate has been used to make the Bar appeal to stylish and lively evening drinkers and diners whilst during the day the abundance of natural light and large windows encourages a relaxed and refined atmosphere.

The bar operates on two levels with a stunning red iron staircase linking the two floors. Your eye is naturally drawn to the upper level through the use of a dynamic, twisting and unusual light fixture which brings together the two areas.

The bar itself is an attractive focal point through again combining tradition and contemporary. Mirrors back the wall, in front of which is a dazzling array of spirits, all free poured by bar staff who have all been trained in the mystical art of creating cocktails. Chrome non branded fonts sit on the bar with easily viewed bottle fridges behind the bar.

A wide selection of beers will be available including the ultra stylish Kirin Japanese lager, Red Stripe lager, Corona bottled beer and the award winning cask ale - Wells Bombardier English Premium bitter.

An extensive wine menu will also be available incorporating both new world and European wines.

Bar Citrus is open Monday - Saturday from 11am - 11pm and on Sunday 6pm through to 10.30pm.
