Bedford Beers strike gold...again
Bedford-brewed beers have once again struck gold at an international awards ceremony for quality.
Continuing a string of premier quality recognition medals, The ‘Drink of England’ Wells Bombardier received a Gold Award and Young’s Special London Ale received a Grand Gold award at the Monde Selection awards. In addition Cobra
beer, which is brewed by Wells and Young’s Brewing Company, also received Grand Gold for its draught beer.
Head brewer at Wells and Young’s, Jim Robertson, said: “We are very proud of our continued recognition at these prestigious awards for the quality of our beers which stretches back well in to the last century. This sort of recognition continues to put Bedford on the map as the home of some of the best beers in the world. We have over 100 years of brewing expertise and still use the same high quality ingredients, including water from our very own natural mineral water well.”
The Monde Selection International Institute for Quality Selections is the oldest and one of the most respected organisations for quality selection in the world. A spokesperson for the awards said: “The awards constitute the most tangible acknowledgement of producers’ efforts in preserving and maintaining the highest level of quality for their products.”
The beers are available in pubs throughout the UK, including the recent award-winning Charles Wells pubs.
