HOLLYWOOD COUPLE ENJOY ENGLAND'S PATRON PINT

A little Hollywood glitz has rubbed off on Charles Wells with the news that Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart have been supping Wells Bombardier on a recent trip to England

The American showbiz couple were holidaying on a barge along Shropshire's Llangollen canal and were keen to sample traditional English life whilst they were here. This included a trip to the local pub, the Narrowboat Inn in Whittington, where they asked for advice when choosing from the menu.

Colin Hill, Landlord of The Narrowboat Inn, said "Harrison Ford asked what beer I'd recommend and I suggested Wells Bombardier as it's the most popular beer in the pub. He ordered a pint to accompany his steak and kidney pie whilst Calista opted for cottage pie and Wells Bombardier. Harrison then came back for another two pints of Wells Bombardier, so obviously agreed with our regulars who have made the cask beer a permanent guest ale by popular demand."

Charles Wells Sales and Marketing Director, Nigel McNally said "We're delighted to hear that Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart are the latest celebrities to enjoy a pint of real ale. Even more so that it was Wells Bombardier, which research has shown is most closely associated with St George's Day and all things English. There couldn't be a better way for the couple to have experienced a traditional English break than by enjoying good pub food accompanied by Wells Bombardier, England's Patron Pint."

Wells Bombardier is currently the 8th best selling premium cask ale and is outperforming the market by +20% MAT (AC Nielsen May 2004). It is synonymous with the campaign for greater recognition of St George's Day through its Value of St George campaign and is sure to achieve even greater distinction now that Indiana Jones himself has discovered the great taste of Wells Bombardier.
